Technology

21st Century Learning Skills
In my classroom, I welcome and encourage my students to be engaged in using technology in the classroom and at home. Even by allowing students to play video game – even at home – I believe that students are learning, but please keep in mind that video game, along with other activities, should always be in moderation and that you should know what your kids are playing at all times. Game should be ALWAYS be age appropriate and should not contain violence. And remember – even though it is important to use technology… do forget to be active by exercising or playing outside, and still read books. What do kids learn by playing video games, using the internet, using technology? - Creativity / Imagination, Problem Solving, Comprehension, Reading / Math Skills, Economics, Working with others, and so much more. Technology is an Integral part of life and work in the 21st century… our students need to be able to use and know about 21st Century skills.

I follow the National Educational Technology Standards for teaching and using technology with my students. Download the standards.

  1. Creativity and Innovation
  2. Communication and Collaboration
